More ways to show what makes you special. Optional Competitions are separate from the main Princess Of Asia® competition — enter as many, or as few, as you wish, subject to entry limits and deadlines.
Enter any number of Optional Competitions — there’s no requirement to enter all of them.
Optional Competition scores do not affect your Queen competition results.
Optional Competitions may be evaluated by a separate panel of judges.

From the runway to the written page, each competition celebrates a different talent, skill, or strength. Choose the ones that fit you best.
Photogenic
Show your personality in a picture.
Submit a photo that shows your confidence, personality, and natural beauty.
- One high-quality photo per entry; headshots recommended
- Color or black-and-white welcome; professional photos welcome but not required
- Photos should be age appropriate — avoid heavy filters or excessive editing
Runway Model
Walk with confidence. Show your style.
Show your confidence, personality, and modeling skills on the runway.
- Choose one fashionable, age-appropriate outfit that represents your personal style
- Cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, fashionable separates, cultural-fusion fashion, and other stylish looks welcome
- No swimsuits
Ethnic Wear
Celebrate your culture and heritage.
Wear traditional or culturally inspired clothing and proudly share your heritage on stage. Contestants provide a short description for the emcee to read.

Fun Fitness
Show your energy, strength, and confidence.
A high-energy runway competition. Wear age-appropriate athletic or fitness clothing and show your personality while completing a simple runway routine.
- Leggings, athletic shorts, tennis skirts, athletic dresses, joggers, fitness outfits, sneakers, and similar activewear welcome
- No swimsuits or bikini-style outfits
Stage Talent
Show us what you can do — LIVE!
For talents that can be safely performed on the Princess Of Asia® stage: singing, dancing, musical instruments, martial arts demonstrations, spoken word, poetry, comedy, cultural performances, and other stage-ready talents.
- Time limit: 90 seconds; music must be submitted by the published deadline
- Props allowed if safe and quickly brought on and off stage
- No fire, weapons, dangerous stunts, hazardous materials, or safety risks
Showcase Talent — Video
Some amazing talents don’t fit on a stage.
For skills and accomplishments better demonstrated through video: sports, ice skating, gymnastics, swimming, horseback riding, cooking or baking, art, sewing or fashion design, robotics, science projects, and other unique skills.
- Submit a video of up to 90 seconds showing you performing the talent
- Simple editing is allowed, but the video should clearly show you actually doing the activity
Spokesmodel
Lead with your voice.
Give a short speech about something that matters to you — culture, leadership, confidence, community service, someone who inspires you, a challenge you overcame, your dreams, or an issue you care about.
- Time limit: up to 75 seconds
- Contestants may receive help preparing, but the ideas and message should be their own
Young Author
Share your thoughts through writing.
2027 Topic: What Does Confidence Mean to Me? Write a short essay about a personal experience, someone who inspires you, a challenge you faced, or how you’ve learned to become more confident.
- Maximum length: 300 words, in the contestant’s own thoughts and voice
- Parents or others may help with spelling and grammar only
Free Achievement Awards
These awards recognize qualities and accomplishments beyond the stage — every contestant is automatically eligible, no separate entry required.
Best Resume
Celebrate what you have accomplished.
All contestants who submit a Princess Of Asia® resume are automatically entered. Resumes may include school achievements, activities, leadership, community service, sports, music and arts, cultural activities, awards, and work or volunteer experience.
POA Spirit Award
Be kind. Be positive. Lift others up.
Every contestant is automatically eligible. Throughout pageant activities, Princess Of Asia® staff look for contestants who demonstrate positive character.
Community Service Award
Recognizing contestants who make a difference.
Every contestant is automatically considered based on the community service information submitted with their Princess Of Asia® application.
Optional Competition Awards
Recognition may be adjusted based on the number of entries in each age division.
